{"id":275,"date":"2014-02-11T22:20:23","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T22:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/?p=275"},"modified":"2014-02-11T22:20:23","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T22:20:23","slug":"new-wifridge-based-on-adafruit-cc3000-wifi-shield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/?p=275","title":{"rendered":"New WiFridge based on Adafruit CC3000 Wifi shield"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because I could no get a stable WiFridge (see <a title=\"Introduction to one of my first Arduino based project : WiFridge\u2026\" href=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/introduction-to-one-of-my-first-arduino-based-project-wifridge\/\">here<\/a>, <a title=\"WiFridge : hardware details\" href=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wifridge-hardware-details\/\">here <\/a>and <a title=\"WiFridge : the software\" href=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/getting-more-technical-about-wifridge-the-software\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0for details on my first version of WiFridge) using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sparkfun.com\/products\/10822\">RN-XV Wifly<\/a> module, I decided to give a try to the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adafruit.com\/products\/1534\">Adafruit CC3000 Wifi shield<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, I made a mistake when I ordered the shield (although it is quite clear on Adafruit&#8217;s web site&#8230;) there are 2 versions :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one with uFL connector and then needing an additionnal antenna and adapter wire<\/li>\n<li>one with built-in ceramic antenna<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So unless you really need an external antenna, the ceramic antenna should be sufficient for most use&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Wifi module, hardware is quite similar :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 waterproof DS18B20 temperature sensors<\/li>\n<li>1 AM2302\u00a0sensor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Temp-Probes.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-281\" style=\"border: 0px;\" alt=\"Temp Probes\" src=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Temp-Probes.png\" width=\"230\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Temp-Probes.png 640w, https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Temp-Probes-300x285.png 300w, https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Temp-Probes-314x300.png 314w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 230px) 100vw, 230px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 3mm LEDs (green, yellow, red)<\/li>\n<li>3 1k\u03a9\u00a0resistor<\/li>\n<li>1 10k\u03a9\u00a0resistor<\/li>\n<li><del>1 4.7\u03a9\u00a0resistor<\/del>\u00a0(AM2302 does NOT need a pullup&#8230; it is built-in !)<\/li>\n<li><del>1 Arduino Wireless shield<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>1 RN-XV Wifly module<\/del><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adafruit.com\/products\/1534\">Adafruit CC3000 Wifi shield<\/a><\/li>\n<li>a bunch of wires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/WiFridge-CC3000-640x480.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-276\" style=\"border: 0px;\" alt=\"WiFridge CC3000 640x480\" src=\"http:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/WiFridge-CC3000-640x480.png\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/WiFridge-CC3000-640x480.png 640w, https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/WiFridge-CC3000-640x480-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/interactingobjects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/WiFridge-CC3000-640x480-400x300.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Connections are quite straightforward :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Led are connected to digital I\/Os 3, 6 and 7 through 1k\u03a9 resistors.
